Adventure on the Caminito del Rey

If you’re looking for an unforgettable adventure during your stay at Cortijo La Pedriza, a trip to the Caminito del Rey is an absolute must! Just over an hour’s drive through the beautiful Andalusian countryside, a spectacular hike along steep cliffs awaits you, with breathtaking views of deep gorges and emerald lakes.

Spectacular and Breathtakingly Beautiful!

The Caminito del Rey, once known as the most dangerous path in the world, is today completely renovated and safely accessible. Still, it remains an impressive experience! The path winds along the steep walls of the Desfiladero de los Gaitanes gorge, sometimes more than 100 meters above the river. The wooden walkways and narrow paths make for quite an adrenaline rush, but the breathtaking views make it all worthwhile.

The hike of about 7.7 kilometers takes about 3 to 4 hours, depending on your pace and how many photos you take along the way (and believe me, there will be many!). Along the way, you can see vultures soaring overhead and enjoy the peace and beauty of nature.

Enjoy tapas and beautiful views after your adventure!

After the hike, it’s great to plop down at one of the cozy restaurants in El Chorro, where you can enjoy a well-deserved tapas lunch overlooking the water. Think fresh jamón, local cheeses and a cold cerveza-the perfect end to an active day.

On the way back to La Pedriza, you’ll drive through quaint villages and sprawling olive groves, a great chance to reflect on this unique experience. Whether you are a nature lover, a daredevil or just looking for a special day trip-the Caminito del Rey is not to be missed!
